I have learned saddlemaking from Willem Muiys, Custom Leather Saddlery. Unfortunately it is not possible to maintain an economically viable saddlery in the Netherlands, and I have therefore decided to stop making custom westernsaddles.

I am available to measure horses and give advice on choosing the correct saddle.

I also will still give clinics about saddles and fit, as I am deeply concerned about the many horses I see suffering under ill-fitting saddles.

On request I will also teach leathercraft techniques.

 Een reprodustie van de oudste zadels (boomloos) die ooit opgegraven zijn: een scythenzadel

 Dit is mijn dameszadel. Het is Amerikaans, van rond 1880. Amerikaanse dameszadels zijn een beetje archaïsch; in Europa was de tweede hoorn rond die tijd al verdwenen.  Het zadel had ál het leer verloren, alleen het herten leer van de zit zat er nog op. Het zadel is zo precies mogelijk gereconstrueerd.
